I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT. I started suspecting that Maggie was Mary right after Ellen's conversation with Bobby, and when later Dean confirmed that I just about died. When he said, "Mom," I think I stopped breathing for a second, and then made some weird EEEEEEEE!!! sound. #facepalm#
Oh, that scene and the two right after, where Sam and Dean and Mary were reunited, it was so wrenching and perfect. I felt so awful for Dean, especially, so sympathetic when Dean first saw his mother and so deliciously indignant when Sam said "You did this to him?...You made your four year old son responsible for his baby brother, and then told him he couldn't speak?"
And then, following that with a confrontation with the demon, and with Sam's powers manifesting themselves--I totally didn't see that coming, kudos. And you wrote it so fabulously, too! Oh, this whole chapter was so enthralling.

But I still didn't know about the demon showing up until I started writing it. . . .
I'm glad you enjoyed it! And that the emotional stabs came through just how they were supposed to. Thanks so much for reading!

Mary was an unexpected revelation-totally didn't see that one coming. And to find out she's responsible for Dean's "condition": ouch. Then Sam has to do his thingy to protect his family....nothing's easier for the Winchester clan! But you gotta love Ellen's practicality *g*
Terrific chapter!

I'm glad Maggie's interesting for you, and that the revelation came as a nice shock. I've been worried about making sure it manages to surprise people, without it being totally out of left field.
