OMGGGGG! #flails#

I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT. I started suspecting that Maggie was Mary right after Ellen's conversation with Bobby, and when later Dean confirmed that I just about died. When he said, "Mom," I think I stopped breathing for a second, and then made some weird EEEEEEEE!!! sound. #facepalm#

Oh, that scene and the two right after, where Sam and Dean and Mary were reunited, it was so wrenching and perfect. I felt so awful for Dean, especially, so sympathetic when Dean first saw his mother and so deliciously indignant when Sam said "You did this to him?...You made your four year old son responsible for his baby brother, and then told him he couldn't speak?"

And then, following that with a confrontation with the demon, and with Sam's powers manifesting themselves--I totally didn't see that coming, kudos. And you wrote it so fabulously, too! Oh, this whole chapter was so enthralling.

Thank you! Seriously, this is the story that's been in my head since the very beginning, even before "Words Like Violence" started to form.

But I still didn't know about the demon showing up until I started writing it. . . .

I'm glad you enjoyed it! And that the emotional stabs came through just how they were supposed to. Thanks so much for reading!

Thank you! Considering that that scene has been in my head since the very beginning, I'm damned proud to hear that it managed to be a shock. I was worried all throughout about hinting to the possibility without losing the impact of the twist. . . .

Thanks for reading and commenting.

I so did not expect this! Awesome! Though I confess I was left still curious to see Mary's reaction when she realised the full consequences of her words.

That's the trouble with the outsider POV, you don't always get to see all the interesting moments. But I'm glad you liked it other than that.

Yea, another chapter!!!

Mary was an unexpected revelation-totally didn't see that one coming. And to find out she's responsible for Dean's "condition": ouch. Then Sam has to do his thingy to protect his family....nothing's easier for the Winchester clan! But you gotta love Ellen's practicality *g*

Terrific chapter!

Thank you. Yeah, the protecting the family thing just might be genetic. . . . ;D Thanks for reading!

OMG! I am totally, totally shocked by this twist, and yet you set it up so beautifully, talking about the pattern of losing one parent. Maggie the penitent, thinking she'd protected her sons, is a powerful figure, and I can't wait to read more about her. Ellen's tough, practical POV here was so very Ellen that it made me miss her all over again.

I miss Ellen a lot, especially after I rewatched several season two episodes in preparation for this part. She's just such a great character.

I'm glad Maggie's interesting for you, and that the revelation came as a nice shock. I've been worried about making sure it manages to surprise people, without it being totally out of left field.
