Woohoo! Only one seminar left, then it's all over! I get the 2.05pm train home, then two weeks of my mum looking after me! I really need the break though! I haven't been home since Christmas, so it will be nice to see everyone again! Need some time to relax before starting PPP and revision!

I have spent the week in Hull! Sunsine, fresh sea air.... only joking, cold, cloudy, crappy accomodation (tiny kitchen and only one shower between about 10 people!), and bratty kids (actually some of them were quite sweet!). I've just found out that the (evil) Med School is placing me in Hull for two weeks in February for Paeds! I though Huddersfield was bad enough, but it gets worse! I spent Wedensday on Delivery Suite at BRI! I saw two deliveries and all I can say is 'ouch, no thank you!' Something that big should not come out of something that small! I had a really good week in anaesthetics! Got to do loads of things- canulation, intubation and even got the chance to help with a central line (very scary!) I can now do pink canulas fairly well! Also did a few orange ones, which are absolutely huge!!! One more week of anaesthetics, but this time in Pinders and Pontefract! It's getting so dark ( Read more... )

I've had a fairly easy week, a big contrast to the one before! A few lectures and a presentation (a bit scary!) Also a day in intensive care, which was really interesting! I've now finished my placement in Airedale! I had a really good four weeks there, especially the last week spent in A&E! I had lots of practice doing cannulas, bloods, ABGs and have improved my histories and examinations! It was very tiring though! I was doing very long hours in A&E, 9am to gone 1am on some occasions!
