so my partner's parents, out of the blue, after telling him in no uncertain terms they did not think he should go out to Florida, just put a check for $500 in the mail to help defray the expenses of his trip

Wow! That's awesome that happened. I bet it helped relieve some stress!

Yeah! Although with my level of stress lately the phrase "drop in the bucket" comes to mind, for sure. I almost quit my job on Tuesday on the spot. Hopefully you're hangin in with your own ration of stress.

And speaking of hanging, we should totally hang out again sometime! :)
