Yesterday I saw an ad that gave me the creeps.  It had flashing text:  "What is Mortgage Insurance?" with an older white guy flashing his wedding ring but  looking frazzled and forlorn.  The next frame flashed

I woke up this morning and stumbled towards the kitchen, but stopped short at hearing a chirpy "good morning Belle!" from the redheaded twelve-year-old perched in my living room watching what passes for cartoons these days. So, partner's son and grandma made it as far as Atlanta.  When their plane took off, it encountered some form of mechanical difficulty that was severe enough that they barely made it back to the airport.  (I'm sure everyone is sparing me the details of such a mechanical difficulty because of my well-known fear of flying, and I'm just fine with not ( Read more... )
