It's possible that I'm just expecting too much. It wouldn't be the first time that's happened. I've become a collector of Tarot decks without meaning to--in the sense that many of the decks I've acquired turn out to be collector's items rather than decks that are necessarily easy to work with ( Read more... )

You cannot have the Queen of Swords simpering if you want to get the message across that she has a sharp mind and a sharp tongue.
Damn, this totally made me laugh. Because even though I've never seen the deck, I can just imagine the card. Sounds like you've got quite the collection, mate. Very cool. Not something I know a whole lot about, though I like to read about it. This might seem like a weird idea, but have you thought about... I dunno, the next time you get a deck, picking something that doesn't necessarily appeal aestetically but fits the R-W patterns and whatnot. I don't know what I'm saying, LOL.

I've thought about it, but there's no way I could buy an ugly deck. There IS a R-W deck that I'd love, but there's no way I'm paying $80 for it. It's called the Tarot of Dreams. Check it out online, it's gorgeous.

Never said it had to be ugly, LOL. Just not something that immediately tugs at your heartstrings every time you see it. And I'll check out the deck; with a name like that, I imagine it looks fantastic.
