Going MAC

Yeah, I think this makes me a traitor. Aaaanyway, my Dad the technophile has obtained a new Mac laptop, henceforth to be known as Speedy. Now that he has Speedy, he proposes to donate his "old" model to me, since my PC laptop is about as old as Jesus and takes 10 minutes to start up. What kind of laptop is it? What version of the OS is it running? I found the PC-to-Mac switch way easier than I expected.

It's, um, a whatchamacallit. A Tiger. Other than that, I'd have to ask my dad. Does that help at all??

Okay, so not too old then. That's the version after mine (10.4), and mine (10.3) was pretty easily compatible with everything, and good about opening files that came from my old desktop. Good luck!

Glad to hear it, I was kind of dreading the transfer. Imagining damaged and/or lost files, smoke and flames erupting from my dinosaur laptop...
