Can you be aware that you are being manipulated and still go along with it happily?

Maybe, but it doesn't seem to last very long.

Manipulation can be someone who (attempts to) deceives you into doing something they do not think you would do for other reasons or given the true circumstances, then you can be aware of the real reasons or circumstances but still go along with the ruse. Manipulation can also be someone that uses certain tactics: uses guilt, or attraction, or passive-aggressive means or otherwise plays on powerful emotions to get another to do more for them or to act in a certain manner they probably would not otherwise. Both sorts of manipulation get tiring in my experience. We can see through both forms and that doesn't mean that the manipulator is necessarily conscious of your awareness or that your decision to allow the ruse at some point (and not to bring it painfully into the light) constitutes not being manipulated. for you to merely remain silent and acquiesce to the desires put forth can still constitute successful manipulation ( ... )
