I haven't seen the new BBC Sherlock. But I've read and seen Holmes and, most importantly, I've read many of your stories, and you are impossible to resist. Speaking as one who knows absolutely nothing about the new Holmes but possibly too much about people whose minds work like your Sherlock's, I think you have climbed inside the conceptual framework and the psyche of this character and learned to perceive through them as if it were natural to you. Deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning, physical manifestations of his emotions as variables to consider-- you've nailed the learning and pursuit of John Watson perfectly. Your writing as ever is brilliant.

THANK YOU! How wonderful to be in Sherlock's head, and see the whole thing start. That poor man is just inundated in a perpetual whitewater of thoughts and information, isn't he?

I snorted my way through the middle bit, from "So: be impressive, speak to John, be even more impressive, become liked, ask to coffee, have coffee, ask to dinner, have dinner, repeat until dating." through using violin as a verb (I assume), to "Delete search history. Hope Mycroft hasn’t noticed."

This makes it worse, seeing what a train wreck their misperceptions lead to in Cooperative Principal. FEELS!!! You do it so well.

The lonely masturbation bit (Result: sense of terrible loneliness. Not unexpected, but disappointing.) was fantastic, too.

Thanks! The deductive bouncing lends itself well to absurdity.

What a great insight to Sherlock's thought processes! He has a really distinctive voice here.

I also really liked how easy and caring the relationship between Sherlock and Mike, and Sherlock and Mrs Hudson, was. Nice contrast to Sherlock agonising over how to start a relationship with John.

Thanks! Not sure I'm going to keep with this particular style, but it was interesting to try out.
