i can tell you are really searching and seeking wisdom! keep it up, but a word of advice, when you read stuff in a book, look into scripture to back up what you are reading. i made that mistake once, i was leading a Bible study on a book, and we actually spent very little time to practically no time in the Bible.

the book has notes in the back, with the authors commentary and notes from biblical passages.

Good thoughts Justin. I can't say I've been on the same thought, but on a similar one for a while. Mostly, I am upset with the way the Church of Christ in general deals with teenagers and young people. I feel that Highland treated very complicated issues that teens would face soon with in a very childish way. As a result, I have found it difficult to hold on to much of what they spent so much time drilling into our heads. I just can't help but think that if they gave up a little in terms of being more honest about typical CoC wednesday night topics that they would gain a lot in terms of college kids not wholesale rejecting it all when they realize that some of it is BS. My 2 cents.
