Let's talk Inception.

First of all, I have a new layout: benitle. Ain't it pretty? I'm still getting used to it. I've had the Sam/Dean layout forever and whenever I go to some LJ now, I'm all "oh wow, does So-and-so have a new layout?" and then I remember that I watch everything in my own style and that I have a new layout. Silly me. There's two minor things I wanted to tweak ( Read more... )

I like it... particularly if a) used to annoy Arthur, b) Eames just can't help it because he wuvs A that much or c) in extreme stress circumstances ( ... )

See? Me too! It just makes sense sometimes!

I mean, we've got less than 3 hours of canon, and so authors need a hook to make them recognisable as the canon characters in their minds and the minds of the audience, and there's not all that much variety to chose from in that length of screen time.Exactly! There is not all that much canon about Eames and Arthur and I don't find it wrong or unbelievable if someone takes that little bit of canon and expands on it. It just doesn't seem to bother me. To me, Eames came across as flirty toward Arthur, even if to Eames that meant annoying the hell out of Arthur. What's better than an unwanted pet name? *shrug ( ... )

Hm, I guess I'd get it if people were complaining that Eames wouldn't say (as an example) love because judging from his accent he's supposed to be from City/Region So-And-So and people there are rather partial to darling, pet or muffin. But I think that's not quite how people argue?

I love it but being a brit there are some words I can't stand being used. Darling is canon, pet, love, dear or sweetie is fine. Duck is NEVER OK!!!

No one uses duck unless you are from the north, which Eames is (from his accent anyway) not.

See, this is something I totally agree with! It's one thing to say "it's OOC if he uses endearments at all" and another thing to say "He wouldn't say THAT because it's not common in the region he's from." I just believe that there is SO little canon of Inception, Arthur and Eames only being side characters, that it's hard to judge who's wrong and who's right.

(Haha, and I TOTALLY used duck in the fic I'm currently writing. Brb, exchanging it for something else. Thanks! *g*)

Ooooh, it's very minimalist, but pretty, too!

Thank you! The fact that it's so simply was what mostly attracted me to it. It has all the functions I need and nothing more. And it's wonderfully neutral. :)

*nodnod* I can see why. It's neat and clean and just lovely. :D

The font colors were extremely light, so I tweaked them a little. I'm getting old, I need more contrast. ;) But that was about it. I wish there were easy CSS based fixes for de-linkifying the location and for adding a link so that clicking on a userpic goes to the all userpics site of a user.

1) Love the new layout

2) I think it's like how I feel about nicknames in the J2 fandom. Sparingly, but in certain situations are a cute little addition.

1) Thank you!

2) That's how I feel! I think they can really make a great addition to Eames' character, given he doesn't use them in every second sentence.

Btw, thank you SO SO MUCH for your email. I've added another scene and there's still not much of an overall plot, but maybe I'll get there soon enough. I'm definitely sending you an update once I have a little more. (If that's ok!) :)
