Is there really a problem with Kerry voting for giving Bush the power to go to war, but then being against the resulting war? Doesn't the President need the power to go to war to have any leverage with diplomacy for a country like Iraq and thus Kerry did his job by giving the president the tools needed to try and get inspections or what ever else

But, it's driving me up a wall that Cheney and Bush are criticizing Kerry for changing his opinion (even though I agree that he didn't necessarily do that). What good is consistency if you consistently make bad decisions (or if you're consisent and incorrect)? There's an old Psychological term called "Escalation of Commitment"- sinking yourself into a deeper hole because you're afraid to admit you're wrong. If people could admit their mistakes and "change" their opinion every once in a while for the better, the world would be a smarter place.
