Indeed they are!

I noticed a huge, oily plume of smoke over the rooftops as I was taking Ellie and Barnum out for their evening constitutional. When we reached the park we got a good look. It was the color of old oil and it cut across the horizon from the hill just north of the park, casting a shadow over south Irvine.

Good luck guys! Another friend of mine in San Diego just got the call to clear out of their house near the 15. Looks like I have another set of people to think about now as well.

Heh... well, this happens every few years in California -- we're almost all chaparral out here and we rarely allow it to burn naturally, so this is the result.

Back in High School, somebody had the most awesome shirt ever, titled "The Four Seasons of LA": Fire, Flood, Earthquake, Riot.

Get ready for Flood soon.

Of course, we must hang out sometime soon! I've been consumed with work and moving, but we gotta give you a quick tour of the city one of these weekends.
