My 2 friends from Korea invited me to a cooking lesson. I learned how to make Turkish cabbage rolls, grape leaves and tiramisu! It only took 4 hours! I discovered that we just don't roll much food in the US except of course burritos but that seems like a breeze compared to a little grape leaf. It's quiet in our building this evening. I never thought i'd miss our noisy neighbors downstairs. I think they went away for the weekend. I haven't heard their high pitched-french/italian conversations or their slamming of doors for 2 whole days. They are really nice people i think they just have no concept of how loud they are! Today Lee and I ventured into Brussels. We walked, took the tram, walked, took the metro then walked again. It was fun. We went to a big park and fed really stale bread to the strange ducks and swans. I want to write more. In 50 years I want to be able to remember what I did when I lived in Belgium and the great and not-so-great experiences. I think this journal is also cool because if friends and family are tired of my stories, they don't have to read them. it's snowing in north carolina and i am happy! the big news - will it be 1-3 or 2-4 inches or will it just turn to rain? please help northern friends and family!! I don't know if our go go gadget subaru outback, 4 wheel drive, mirror defrosting, wiper defrosting butt warming car will make it in 2 inches!!!!
