When I hung out with the Rabbi this week, we were discussing gathering places in Madison in order to find more young adult Jews. And, of course, the coffee shops in Madison are definitely on of those "third places" in Madison. Sitting on my couch, watching the end of Gilmore Girls, with my book sitting next to me. I just returned from the library and found a new stack of books. I love the Madison Public Library system. I have received my first rejection for the Labradoodle story. The winning magazine was Hallmark Magazine. They said that it didn't fit the space requirements, although I did say that the story could be changed/shortened/adjusted. Maybe I need to send a shorter excerpt in. I leave for Israel, the Birthright program, on Sunday (techinically monday morning). I'm excited, although a little concerned about getting sick, since that is my tendency when presented with a lack of sleep and new environment. But, I'm armed and dangerous (to germs, of course).
