I canvassed again yesterday for Fair Wisconsin. It wasn't as amazing as the first time, but still tons of fun. More people weren't home in this neighborhood. And, my buddy wasn't as much fun. When I moved to Madison just before my sophomore year in high school all I felt was relief. Finally, my family lived somewhere that wasn't consumed with conservative values. I played with Team Band on Tuesday at GAY GAMES 2006. It was quite an experience. More inspiring than I expected. It was fun, of course. It was also dreadfully hot here in the Windy City.  Tuesday wasn't so bad, but Monday, when we had rehearsal in the Pritzker Pavillion (where we performed) it was hot hot hot and muggy. Yuck. I'm sitting here, in my camp chair, in my air conditioned bedroom, listening to 848 on the radio (Chicago Public Radio Show).  My room no longer houses a bed, dresser, bedside table, etc. My living room no longer plays host to my couch, chair, desk, bookcases and TV. I've been housesitting for the past 10 days and today I am back in my apartment. Yay! One roof over from my building (down fullerton) is covered with toys--bikes, mini motorcycles, etc., as well as a tent. I am so curious as to when the kids play up there. I just discovered the magical uses of ammonia.  Although it's smelly, ammonia is a household wonder.  It helped me clean my stovetop almost completely, and the walls around my stove.  It also supposedly will kill gnats that breed in drains and stuff.  I didn't realize what an amazing (and cheap) product it was until today.  White vinegar is also ( Read more... )
