When I turned on my computer last night, it declared that the previous shutdown was improper - which I don't think it was - and proceeded to scan the hard drive. I decided to let it run since it claims to fix any problems it finds. When I left this morning for work, it was still scanning. Methinks that might be a bad sign ( Read more... )

Have you been checking yours for spyware and viruses like everyday and defrag if you haven't in a while. Hopefully that'll help. If it boots up definitely make backups, I wish I had. Turns out my computer's mother board is completely fried. The good news is that it should be fine after that's replaced.

Yeah, I ran a full virus scan after I installed the games, and my last spyware scan was clean. I need to delete temporary internet files - another thing that will probably take half the night - and then defrag. I don't think I let the last defrag run to completion because it took so long.

Bummer about your motherboard, but at least your hard drive is OK. How are you? You've been quiet lately (says the pot to the kettle.)

What's Boggle, precioussss? Peggy Hill of King of the Hill plays boggle. Is it a word thing?

Yeah, it's a find-words-in-a-random-grid-of-letters game. Longer words get more points, and if you find the same word as someone else, you don't get points for it. Oh, and it's timed. I might do fine if I had half an hour, but three minutes is too fast for my slow brain.

OMG, I'm so glad I've never gotten addicted to computer games. ER...I used to have a gameboy and I got seriously addicted to Tetris. And quite good at it, too. And Minesweep. Ha. Got fairly decent at that, too, lol! ;-D

I can't do speed games, like Tetris. I used to be good at Minesweeper, and lately it's been Spider Solitaire, which is really hard to win on the Difficult setting. The trouble with Boggle is that you don't really "win" unless you find all the words, so I get sucked into trying over and over till my whole arm is sore from mousing. What a dumb way to waste time.

hahaha. Now I remember where I've heard it before. J . ('member? Scary ex-roommmate?) used to play it late into the night when I desperately wanted to get online and she was on for hours, lol! ;-D

Ew. Forget that association, 'kay? I don't want to think that I'm like J. (oh yeah, I remember her). I'm sure glad I don't have to share a computer/connection with anyone.
