I've been having a lovely couple of weeks at work reviewing documents until my eyeballs want to crawl out and soak themselves in a cupful of Visine, and sitting in 12-hour reviews that start at 7 AM. *is so not a morning person* The company philosophy seems to be that if there isn't a complete panic at each delivery, we must be overstaffed. The company philosophy seems to be that if there isn't a complete panic at each delivery, we must be overstaffed.

Yup. I understand.

The stockholder-driven idea that employees = overhead = bad is particularly absurd in an engineering company. Whatever happened to seeing people as resources?

Ugh, how I love the corporate mental giants who come up with such brilliant ideas (/sarcasm).

I'm sorry you've been so stressed at work. *hugs*

I've been sadly unimpressed with this company compared to others that I've worked for, though those other companies could have succumbed to that mentality too by now. As Janet pointed out, it's pretty widespread.

I'm not really that stressed, just tired and braindead. If it were *my* document we were reviewing, then I'd be stressed. I'll get my turn, but not for some months yet.

*hugs back*

Oy! It sounds like they're a bunch of slave drivers. Looks like you'll need a visit to the spa soon. Or a visit from Elijah. You can pick which you prefer. ;-)

I don't usually give in to enslavement, but this is a "can't say no" situation. A spa sounds wonderful, hopefully Mt. Baker will be a good substitute. If Elijah were nearby I'd hide - I'm gaining weight and breaking out from all the junky snacks they provide.

I hope your work situation smooths out soon, it sounds much worse than mine. :-(

As it happens I had an appointment with the shrink today. Her take on it is that it's a good learning experience. *hacks* Oy. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger, eh? *flexes muscles* I'm trying to look positively at all this (after session with shrink).

*chuckles* I would also hide from Elijah. What's to be done with us? Come on over, Gimli!

Meh. I never consider working with unpleasant people a learning experience. "What doesn't kill me makes me stronger" only applies to my refrigerator. Come to think of it, there's some pretty scary stuff in there right now.

Come on over, Gimli!

Aaaah!!11! *runs and hides*
