Miss Lucy-angel got her wings today. It was a beautiful day, and we lay in the sun for a while. She asked for a last treat of tuna and chicken, but didn't really eat. Then we went to the vet, and it was peaceful and quick. She was beautiful and loving right to the end, and I'm thankful for 12 fun years together. Thanks to all of you, too, for ( Read more... )

Oh my dear, I'm so sorry to hear your sad news. She will have carried all that love with her... *love and hugs*

Thank you. *hugs* She somehow picked her time to assure that I'd be there full time to help her through. I'm so glad I was able to give her that last gift, and get so much love back from her.

I'm so sorry, so very sorry. It's one of the most difficult of things, to lose such a long-time companion. I'm glad you're able to remember all the lovely years you shared together. *hugs*

Thanks, Lily. *hugs* You've had way too much experience of loss, and I hope good memories help you too. I was pretty much cried out before I went to my therapist tonight, so I shared some stories about Lucy, like the time she went running down the hall *inside* a plastic bag. By the time I got to her she had shredded her way out and was belly-down on the floor, clearly saying "It tried to kill me!" Fortunately she learned her lesson from that and just licked them from the outside. She frequently drove me nuts, but she was a lover, too, and that's what I'll remember.

Thank you. I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you - I think we were both at the room party last year, but there were a lot of people there. It was hard to let Lucy go, but I'm just so glad I was there to realize she was suffering. If I'd been gone, well, it doesn't bear thinking about. It makes me feel a little better to know I did everything I could for her.

What a cute picture of Emmitt.

My deepest sympathy, Cathy. You're a good kitten-mom, you know, and Miss Lucy had a great life with you all the way. Rich sends his condolences, too. *hugs*

Thanks Lorie. *hugs you and Rich* She was an assertive little thing, and I wished at the end that I could go back and be more patient with her sometimes. But she forgave me, and our last snuggles meant a lot to me.

I have made a donation to MEOW (at Baranduin's suggestion) in memory of Lucy. My hope is that this gives you comfort knowing that she wasn't just a cat that we will forget. In her memory, other kitties will have a chance at a better life.

You are so sweet. Lucy was a very social kitty, and helping others is a perfect way to remember her. Thank you!
