Anybody diabetic?

Hey all. My mother unit works for Rite-Aid and got a free glucose testing machine thingy. She doesn't know anybody who needs it, so I figured I'd ask y'all. I know the thing goes for about $80 normally. Lemme' know.

I've been worried about it since my uncle's diabetic and I know that it's genetic. How does the thing work? Will it tell me if I've got a risk of that or is it just for people who know they are already?

It's a blood glucose meter. It lets diabetics know how their sugar level is.
