What you said about voting for the guy I dislike less is kinda the point of what I said about the system being flawed. This is a heavily democratic state and the way the electorate works it pretty well excludes the possibility of an independant gaining the executive office. I'll vote for someone I believe will do a good job, not a lesser of 2 evils. I didn't like either option and wouldn't support either.

but you know what? an LJ friend said that the fact that it's even being VOTED on shows that progress is being made.
i'm taking the opportunity to seek out LGBT activist groups to try and file an appeal with the supreme court, as is being done in CA.
but it really is heartbreaking knowing i have to pay the same taxes as heteros but i'm denied my basic civil rights.
