Yesterday I returned from what you might call a pre-weekend weekend. Having two-days off from Oliver! rehearsals, I took a Fung Wah bus from Boston to New York to spend some time with Erica and work with Nehemiah on our musical-in-progress ( Read more... )

Glad to see your musical taste is improving. :p

There are items in this post which give me the idea that I am currently working with an outdated copy of "What's Going On in the Life of Ross Wade." Expect a call!

Improving? What are you talking about? I've always loved Queen! Is this about the time I couldn't stop listening to B*Witched?

It's true, the latest edition of "What's Going On in the Life of Ross Wade" just hit newsstands. It's kind of like "The Farmer's Almanac", but with less cussing and fat jokes.

I've yet to pick up the latest edition of "What's Going On in the Life of Cori Johnson", care to lend me your copy?

Well, as we both know, Nehemiah is notoriously difficult to get in touch with. The man's like a machine! I just called him tonight without any success. I'll pass the message on, though.

It would be a delight to host your fine feathered selves (OMG NEHEMIAH IN BOSTON!!!), to have my piano play a part in the development of your work, and to vocally test-drive your songs. I have only two conditions:

(a) When you come, you bring either interesting fridge magnets or a fun wall calendar.
(b) You make one LiveJournal post devoted solely to your affinity for me.

Let me know when you might want to do this so I can be sure one or both of us, preferably I, will be around.

(a) What, do you think I'm made of money, Goo? Here's the thing, Nehemiah is dead ser on bringing wall calendars. I, on the other hand, refuse to bring anything but refrigerator magnets. Gee, who knew this request would be so polarizing? Yep, magnet humor. At least Daniel will appreciate it.

(b) I've already made a shrine and a small temple, but this? Now you've gone too far.

I appreciate it.

(a) Oh, I'm not greedy. A fully organic homemade magnet will do fine. Although I am excited about the Nehemiah wall calendar!

(b) The shrine and temple are nice and all, but with all due respect, you've kind of let them fall into disrepair. My terms are my terms, man.

Love and extortion,
Emily

Strangely enough, the largest influence for "Me All Along" ended up being David Bowie's "Life on Mars", but no matter.
