Legilmency + Occulumency

Snape is this annoying guy who has a tendency to read minds without much compunction about morals, or maybe privacy concerns, or... anything else. Worse, he is a master at this particular magical art, and it has served him for years as a spy among people who would do terrible, terrible, terrible things to him if they found out. Terezi (seeingeyespit): go right ahead, I imagine she's an open book--and she's also a totally obnoxious preteen so there you go.

Stein (screwmeister): he's also an open book, although there's a possibility he might notice someone else's presence in his mind.

Czeslaw (rethinkstrategy): he is also an open book but I guess I'll go ahead and note here that he's got a little over two hundred years of memories despite having the body of a twelve year old.

Ian (abdocted): go right ahead, open book.

Snape can totally be a mind-reading prick when it comes to Lily, if he wants!

You know, I imagine all the Order members would have SOME training in keeping other people out of their heads. Sirius also tattooed himself pretty heavily in an attempt to protect himself from the Dementors. (And because he was bored.)

Would it be reasonable to say that Sirius's mind does have some protection from digging about?

I mean, he still wears his emotions on his sleeve, so Snape's still going to have an easier time reading Sirius than most people, but maybe when he starts to dig deeper, things get harder than he would have expected?

...Also most of his memories are buried under 12 years of Dementor torment so....maaaybe his is not the mind Snape wants to go rooting around in anyway.

James actually has a power of 'poker face', which is more or less an ability to not be read so easily. So. I guess to an extent he'd have a barrier to that sort of stuff which would either through out the wrong signals or just not be readable at all. Buuut it's not 100% effective so I am always up for questions if needed. Derp :B

Duelling mind mojo could be interesting. And duelling sullen sarcasm. Were these two separated at birth?
