It sucks losing your mom. I mean, I guess, for the most part, it's sort of every child's inevitability, but still...

I miss my mom. And my dad. He died a long time ago. It's just me and my sisters now. Although I did kind of abandon Selene back in Phoenix...

You'd think I'd be more used to that sort of person. I guess my problem is just that I'm not that sort of person, you know? I'm the type prone to ramble. In case you couldn't guess.

So where are you from, Spike?

Sort of a citizen of the world, I'd say. Been all over an' back again. California, of late, but started out in London.

I can tell. I was actually born in Notting Hill, although I've been in the States so long that...well...you can hear the accent.

I actually love Cali. Almost as much as NYC, although I've been in Phoenix for the last nine months. Armpit of the universe.

What were you doin' there? Sort of hate California, but had somethin' I had to do.

And you know, gotta love California. Gotta love that...fun in the sun.

[She rushes on very quickly.]

Ever been to Las Vegas? Now that's a fun place.

Right. More of a night life sort m'self. Vegas ain't bad.

I love the lights. Have you ever been to the light show on Fremont Street? It's so bright it's like the middle of the day. And there are so many colors. More colors than you'd think actually exist on the spectrum.
