[ There’s a bang.
Piper gasps awake in a hospital bed, shooting straight up with her hands still as bloody and sticky as ever. They go to her stomach, where she peels away her shirt to see her wound slowly healing. Her hands still shake from what she remembers. It wasn’t a memory. Prue was standing right in front of her and she was in the Manor

For a moment, he's entirely speechless. Then, he finds a word: ]
WYATT!!

[ He grabs Wyatt's arm, not even bothering to explain why he isn't gone already.
He needs to see Piper, needs to make sure she'll be all right, before he can stop to think about himself. He's seen Piper injured before - it's practically part of their job description - but something makes it feel too real, too connected with the worst possibility he can fantasize. Even now, he tries to push back the images of a ruined birthday party and his mother on the floor, her last few shallow breaths running out all too quickly. ]

Immediately, he orbs them into her room. The words, "Mom" almost escape his lips but only the "m" sound manages before... ]

When those blue lights faded away, Piper frowned. She'd move higher up the bed, away from the two men if she weren't still bleeding and in pain. The city may be healing her, but it was doing so at a snail's pace. ] Who the hell are you?

Piper.
[ He steps forward, moving around to the other side of her hospital bed (hands raised in a gesture of harmlessness), both giving Wyatt his own space and making sure he can stay close without getting in the way. He tries to erase as much of the hurt and worry from his expression as he can manage because this is going to be an especially hard sell. His cards need to be played just right. ]
Don't worry. I'm, uh-Chris Perry. This is my whitelighter-[ the slightest pause ]-Wyatt Matthews. He can heal you. We just... we want to help.

What she doesn't understand is how the hell they even knew she needed help. Not that she needs their help - she's fine on her own and she's got Leo, for crying out loud - but perhaps the Elders are looking after her sorry ass after all.
Piper feels incredibly uncomfortable, given her situation. She wants to be healed and get the hell out of there, but her stubborn streak seemed to be out, loud and proud. She doesn't want to owe anyone anything. And where the hell was Leo? Shouldn't he be able ( ... )

No. No. He can do this. He is good under pressure. He's not neurotic. Chris has taken control but he can do this. ]
Everyone knows who the charmed ones are, Piper.
[ He looks to Chris and back at her moving to her bed. ]
Hold still.
[ He holds his hands out. Lies aside, he's interested in healing her. She should not be in pain. She should not be hurt. She should be happy and whole. And ... from a different time. ]

When Wyatt starts doing his thing, Chris glances away. He would rather see his mom healed than watch her wound - and sees something on the nightstand next to her bed. The glowing red light tips him off to what it is and he snatches it up, fiddling it until he finds the power switch and completely shuts off the network device.
He looks back in time to see the healing finishing up, and offers a wan smile. ]
How are you feeling?

Wyatt approaches her and she wants to somehow bolt the hell away. After the day she experienced, she couldn't trust anyone - not the Elders to save their asses, not Tempus to rewind time, not Cole, not even herself. She found herself holding still despite her instinct to raise her hands and try to attack. Despite coming in peace, Piper was still in shock from the entire day.
With a glance to Chris, her eyes still narrowed, she was thankful that the pain and the inevitable dying was gone. She seemed to relax on her bed for a moment, as though forgetting they were even there. ] Pissed off. [ Reluctantly ] And tired. But I'm looking forward to getting out of here. Thanks for the ( ... )

[ Chris does want to take over, because it's all he really knows how to do. He can take cues, sure, but not from people who have no idea what they're doing, and it seems like he's the most informed person in the room. ]
I mean-this isn't San Francisco. They might be here, I don't know. "Here" just isn't what you might want it to be. [ Shaking his head, he sets the device aside once again. ] This is Bete Noire, a sort of... pillar dimension? I don't know much about it yet, but leaving isn't as easy as just grabbing the nearest cab.

The mentioning of cabs and the underling message of being absolutely stuck and screwed causes Piper to frown and she looks at Wyatt. ] But you can orb! Cole could shimmer into another freaking plane, so, why haven't you orbed us the hell out of here?

I've tried. When I first got here, I tried orbing out. Something...bounced me back. Look, we know it's a lot to take in. Especially after ... [ He looks at Chris and back at their mother. ] But, you have to calm down because we aren't the ones that brought you here. But, we are stuck here with you. Along with ... a good deal of others.
And, don't take the cabs. They aren't safe.

Right. For the record, walking doesn't work either. [ Or flying. ] Whatever it is that keeps people from leaving is what pulls them in, too. Like it did for you, and like it did for us.

[ She looks at Chris ] What was that in your hand? The thing you put down? [ She didn't get a good look at it at all. She didn't even know her communicator was even in the room with her. ]
