What a warm winter

Feb 08, 2012 08:14

It seems like forever since I posted anything, but it seems like life is finally settling down somewhat, which is much nicer than this time last year. My sister found a psychiatrist that is willing to work with her and listen to her about what her thoughts are on medications and what she is comfortable taking/trying, and she is pretty excited about ( Read more... )

Thank you! I hope things are going well for you and yours also, especially the godchild. I am so so so behind on everyone, but I have kept you and yours in my thoughts (I was happy to read your mom was ok). I had meant to comment on your post on where to apply for jobs, and mention Florida, since where I am (Tampa) never really gets cold but does get hot and humid. However Florida is a pretty Republican state and our governor is a scum sucking nightmare, so I did not throw it in the ring. Also the GOP convention will be in my town in August, so there will be some awesome protests going on, but what a downer the whole GOP will be here.
Thank you again for your well wishes, and hopefully I can start keeping up again. I hope we all have a good year.

*hugs you* Nice to hear back from you, hee! And I have at least a few friends who'd love to have me live in Florida...but who are really struggling to find work themselves, so the thought of moving there makes me nervous. As for government, well...we have the psychotic nutbar who wants to bring back the Victorian era only with less sex and education, so. :D

I understand the nerves about moving and starting new, especially in today's job market. The one really good thing about Florida, to me, is not having to file state taxes. We have local sales tax which is kinda high (where I am it's almost 7%) but I am always baffled on hearing that some states make you file just like with the Federal Taxes. But hopefully the job market is getting better for everyone. It's kind of sad so many states are in the same boat with having the total loons in charge, but I'm hoping for a turn around soon. I hate the fact the GOP will be here in August but I think the protests are going to be awesome. I'm actually close to where the convention will be and even though we are probably going to have to close for at least that week (I work local government), I can take off and park for free in a safe and close place if I want to see the action. I'm hopeing to see the Daily Show or Colbert haha ( ... )

Buahaha, XMFC claims another victim. I fell into the fandom sometime in July, and haven't looked back since. It has oodles of good fic and plenty of people to pat you on the back for submitting! :>

I am amazed at the XMFC fandom! So much! SO very good! I am actually starting your Buffy AU, which is very well written! And then plan on devouring your other Xmen stories (I have read almost all your writing, and love it very much! I put off the XMen stories because I wasn't interested. I can't belive there was ever a time I didn't want to read everything XMFC related!). And everyone seems very nice. I love getting into new fandoms with awesome stories and great people.
