I am apparently a 47 year-old woman

Mom took me to see the Chinese doctor and acupuncturist today. After much prodding (her) and squealing (me), she told me that I had three displaced vertebrae, an abnormal curve around my lumbar spine and a myriad of other ailments resulting mostly from my horrible sleep pattern (shoulder pains, headaches, neck pains, etc.). She then proceeded to ( Read more... )

It's gotten to a point where I feel like I need to get up and stretch every morning...gone are the days of waking up and running out the door! :(

The dreaded "I can't live like I'm still in college" realization. * nods lots * A desk job, tonnes of office food and no exercise put 30 pounds on me and I'm still working my way back. And in college I used to eat out of the vending machines for days.

Are you feeling any better? I've always been curious about acupuncture and needles fascinate me. Swimming is excellent exercise!

You know what's the really sad part? I'M STILL IN COLLEGE, DAMMIT. :(

Acupuncture is rather painful, especially if you're afraid of needles. If not, it's absolutely WONDERFUL at curing aches and circulation problems. Although, this probably depends on how good your acupuncturist is...

I'll buy a suit this weekend and wheee, swimming pool, here I come!

I'm echoing the "swimming is excellent exercise" comment, it's the best low-impact sport really, I mean you don't necessarily lose that much weight but you develop lean muscles, and your back is safe from damage (unless you're planning on joining the Olympic team, lol)...still, excellent exercise! I'll be starting again come January, hey! :D

I hope the back problems get better, I've heard it's the worst pain... *huggles*

No more late nights, woman! (so says the hypocrite... :D )

OH MAN, YOUR ICON!!!!! *roffles to death*

Yeah, my body seems to like swimming and lean muscles is totally what I'm after! Maybe we can go swim together come January?

It was pretty horrible, but the acupuncturist set me right. Also, she's enforcing a 11pm bedtime (which I haven't been very good at following...but at least it's progress, right?)

I love these whacky cross-overs... biomath November 7 2010, 07:04:13 UTC
Yessssss, please join me, how does "exhausted members only" or "scholastically challenged swimmers" sound for our swim-team logo? ;D

We also have to do some "weight bearing" exercises, like jogging/fast walking, to keep our bone mass in tip-top shape... (apparently there's a correlation, somehow?)

Hope your subsequent visits were less trauma inducing! 11 PM bedtime? That was like bedtime, circa high school. :/ But hey, at least you're trying! *hugs*

getting older is so not fun. I swear I went to Disney this past weekend and I have never been so sore in my life I felt like an old woman walking around the park wishing she had a wheelchair.

Ouch.
I was walking around for a few days like an old woman missing her cane, lol.
