Unexpected difficulties

Apr 28, 2011 02:00

1.  Finding untranslated English-language books in Paris. I was pointed to a Smith`s on rue Rivoli, near place de la Concorde, which sounds promising. I was looking to buy George RR Martin`s original books for A song of Ice and Fire for my trip tomorrow (more like in 2.5 hours...), but I guess that`ll have to wait. Yes, I`m watching Game of Thrones ( Read more... )

Oh betsy, you travel junkie you!! It's awesome, I'm glad you're having such an exciting time (albeit it sounds exhausting but what fun thing isn't, eh? ;p)!!!!!!

And boooo at early tix, man, our flights to/from Norway were at 6:30 AM, lol, epic fail. Those are hellish. Especially when you get there and the ticket counters don't open up until 6. :O
BUT YAY FOR COFFEE. ;D

I'm totally a junkie. *shakes head* I'm always exhausted and whiney and my skin is totally breaking out from all the moving/lack of sleep/horrible diet, but I AM SO HAPPY CAMEL. SO HAPPY. :D :D :D

Erm....I ended up missing that flight. Ahem. That's a story for another time?

Ahaha. You know, I could say the same to you. ARE YOU IN EUROPE. :P :P :P

Yes, Sean Bean! I'm not saying that he's getting typecast...but erm, he does play conflicted historical/fantasy noble hero very well?

The show is so much good fun! And a fantasy/medieval nerd's dream come true, lol. I was thinking of picking up the books because at the rate where the show is going, I'll have to wait YEARS before it gets anywhere. (Oh Internet-download, how you have spoiled me!)

Hey! Have you tried Shakespeare & Co.? It's almost an institution for english-language books in Paris, with a tradition of taking in young poets... very bohemian stuff. Plus, is a very nice and complete bookstore, and if I remember correctly, right in front of the river... check it out, and enjoy your trips, ok?
HUGS!

OOOOoooh, I totally forgot about them! Yes, I'll definitively check them out. Maybe they can take me in as a young...erm...something, too? Thanks!
