I've had psychological issues all my life, mostly just not liking myself and having social anxiety.  Though I've seen mental health professionals in the past, I've never really been diagnosed with anything until today.  I was diagnosed with disthymia, which is a mild chronic depression that's not present all the time, but most of the time.  It ( Read more... )

I'm so happy that you've gotten a diagnosis and can now seek treatment. I really am just so, so happy for you! It must be such a relief to finally have an answer. Good luck with everything :)

And especially with staying happy. Maybe keep a happy playlist on your iPod just in case? It sure helps me! :D

Though I've never been on any SSRI, I can tell you what various people have told me: Prozac makes you feel like a zombie, and Zoloft has had, for the people I've known, little to no noticeable side effects. :P

YO DUDE THAT'S WHAT I HAVE. Way to go stealing my mental health issues! Kidding. They told me to exercise too. I didn't, but you are a way better self-motivator than I'll ever be (as you well know). Good luck!
