So in an attempt to avoid the impending doom that is my 30th birthday, I have decided to go to Chicago for the week. Helped primarily by the fact that flights are cheap at the moment, and my parents have agreed to pay for at least some of it as my birthday present. I'm so jealous about you going to Chicago! I think we spoiled ourselves by going last summer because now we want MORE. I hope you have a good time (well, how can you NOT?). :)

I'm sorry things aren't working out with Jack. It doesn't seem like it was meant to be. I hope you can stay friends anyway.

Also Re: tonsillitis - glad you're well again! Do you have it often? I always thought one had one's tonsils removed after the first time, but a girl on my course said you have to have it more than 3 times a year or something. Maybe it's just Finland, who knows.

at the risk of sounding all old-lady matronizing, there need be no "doom" about approaching 30....my life figured out how to get good 'round about 30 and has continued to improve...i've heard the same from other, similarly vintaged folks =)

that said, have an awesome visit!!

I am over 30 and I feel like for the first time in my life I know who I am.

Here in the State they seem to take you tonsills soons. I had mine taken out when I was 4. I got to throw up on my step dad so it was worth it. ;)

Is it your B-Day week you are going to be in Chicago?

oh, i wish i could time a work related trip to be in chicago at the same time! i will look into it though! glad to read you are doing well with the A. situation. remember that guy i was sort of seeing but not, last year? well, yeah, i had to realize he just wasn't that into me. which sucks, but ultimately i deserve better anyway. and you deserve someone awesome too.

glad we got to chat a couple weeks back, but it would be better to actually see you in person :) good to read you though. and hope you feel better.
