on being in the public eye

Lately I've been getting a lot of press. O Magazine, AARP magazine, Yahoo news. Apparently mid-life career changes are all the rage these days, so suddenly my going from software engineer to circus aerialist is big news. More than once I have left jobs where I was doing ok, getting paid decently, and well-liked by my coworkers. Each time I've left with no new job to carry me, and the people I left behind were all so jealous. It's true that most of us feel trapped in and afraid to take the leap of faith required to pursue happiness.

It's been so lovely to watch you grow your business and do what you love over these past years. Hopefully your passion and willingness to step out of the standard path will inspire others. I know it's been inspiring to me.

If you live up to your *ideals* then they're clearly not good enough ideals! They're called "ideals" because they're impossible to live up to. :)
