Recap time! YAAAAYYY! First recap of the season! (Sorry about that - had people over the past two Wednesdays so I couldn't watch live. Wednesdays are shockingly less good for me that Fridays because of social engagements - because I'm doing life wrong

I swear to you, I typed up a massive paragraph here ranting about things (read: Sam) but then deleted it because you don't need to bear witness to my crazy. I said all I have to say on my Tumblr post earlier, but suffice it to say... I agree.

As for tanning--this was actually the first episode shot (because Jensen directed it), so this is right after they finish their summer vacation. So they will be tanner now than in the first 2 eps.

I am also upset about where Sam's storyline is--I am hoping there is more going on than we know so far...

Personally, Dragonsong was one of the books my daddy read to me as a kid. Pern will always have a place on my bookshelf.

Like Dean never gave Sam a birthday cake! Dude, he was breaking into houses at age 13 to provide wee Sammy with Christmas presents. So sloppy!

Also, if they start talking about Sam going back to school and complete his degree, I'd like to remind them that Sam is DEAD. He can't use those transcripts.

I know that flashback picnic scene with the cheesy setting and music was supposed to make me go awww poor Sam, he misses 'normal', but instead it just made me want to throw something at my tv and yell "Really??" Can we be more disgustingly stereotypical? Then again, Show thinks picnics are the epitome of every man's fantasy apparently - Dean dreamt Lisa in the exact same setting and it was just as cheesy. But at least that was a dream! This is a cheesy memory. Really??

The fact that Sam has totally forgotten his years at Stanford (and Jess!) grates on me, and I know I've probably read way too much fanfic, but I find it impossible to believe Dean never made sure Sammy had a birthday cake. Sheesh.

However, the Dean-held-down-and-groped scene? A+ :)
