i am in the same boat :( can't watch it live (stupid life outside of Supernatural!!)

i thought the monster was cool! i had no idea until the very end, which i liked!

and the thing with Sam, yeah, it makes me feel off balance. but i remember with the soulless season it was like that the first several episodes.

what's up with Sam? i mean he was with this chick, Amelia, then he's not. obviously the birthday in the park was something special to him, see teary eyes when he remembered.

i really really want to see what Sam went through after Dean disappeared. we've already seen what happened with Dean ( omg hot!!) but with Sam, not so much! really want to see more of that.

...I am seriously not sure what to think of this season yet. Before I go more in depth, I should say that I only started watching SPN this year through the fortuitous route of their on-sale seasons. In addition, season 8 marks the first time I'm watching it as it comes out, not on DVD. With all the disclaimers out of the way

So to some up, your feelings are pretty much my feelings, 'meh' and 'annoyance'. I don't know who this Sam guy is they're trying to pass off as Sam Winchester, but ... annoyance may be too mild of a word. "I want my time here to count for something"?! WTF even? Because saving people, hunting things doesn't count for anything? Stopping the apocalypse doesn't count for anything? I can't even ...
