I mostly know Appalachian Hoodoo straight up, but I've read enough on Vodoun that I -should- be okay; there's a lot of overlap, especially when it comes to spook-bindin'. If he knows anything about the older West African brand of things, that'd be a great help, as that's where this spirit comes from original-like.

As for injury, it's odd. I haven't had much trouble with real animals recently, but iconic representations of them; humans in costumes, hats, and the like- that's how I got shot and my leg sliced up.

I spoke to maman- she tells me Etienne has mentioned his own teacher to be Haitian. Is this close enough to what you are needing?

Haitian is perfect; they're descended from the same tradition the spirit came from.

Sorry it took a while to reply. Mice can be vicious little biters.
