Weekly Question #24 by Tsuki

Dec 08, 2009 16:14

I'm actually supposed to be on hiatus, but I realized that I still didn't ask my question for this week yet! My question is a typical stereotype (quite a large one, actually) about one of the members that honestly bothers me quite a bit.

Do you think Ohno is really unmotivated? Why or why not?

My answer underneath the cut. )

mhm...i do admit i use these stereotypes when speaking of them -_- looking back i'm not proud of that fact, but i use them as endearment, although it may not come off at such ^^; As a fellow artist i can see how motivated Ohno really is XDD It's amazing >< I think he truly is a 'my-pace' kind of person and he just has his own way of doing things/showing his enthusiasm ^^;

I think (and i hope this isn't an influence because i read too many fanfics) that he silently observes everything and just chooses not to talk...I mean, i think he knows what's going on around him, but he truly 'leads by not leading' Although his responses aren't 'deep' i don't think it's because he's stupid or unmotivated O_O I don't think he could have come as far as he has if he was unmotivated -_- there's no way ^^; Like you've mentioned, if it's something he's passionate about he'll get it done, however i think you can see it more then if it were something he was mildly insterested in (or not interested in at all)

Haha, I think a lot of people use these stereotypes as endearments, so no worries. :] I call them Aibaka and snark!Nino a lot. XD Yeah! I think that's totally true. I think him seeming 'unmotivated' fits in with his personality of being a my-pace person.

lol yeah. Being an idol isn't an easy job that anyone can do. XDD Thanks for answering! :D ♥ You gave a great answer, haha. ^^ Sometimes this stereotype really worries me. XD;

ah, phew, that's good ^^;

true >< it's really something to work at :O not just looks, but talent and everything (even the looks you have to upkeep -as women we know the lengths- XDD)

<3 thanks :D i kind just wrote as it came so i didnt think i got what i wanted out of it XD (my point across? XDD) glad it was good ^_~ it is worrying >< but its good that its not such a shallow look at Ohno :D ( a sterotype/endearment of sorts?)

Lol, this is my first time answering a Q on hear. Nervous~!

Anyway...Oh-chan isn't unmotivated. He couldn't have come this far with Arashi and his solo projects if he was wasn't working hard with some sort of motivation. I feel that you can have all the talent in the world but it means diddly squat if don't work hard at it and use it. I think Ohno, just tends to give off the unmotivated aura, but he may just be sleepy lol. When he gets picked for games and stuff on variety shows, like the musical/singing/genre game (I can't remember for the life of the me the exact name! >_<) he always seems to give it his all, never afraid to make to make a fool of himself and always does it sincerely. He likes to get lost in his thoughts and just forgets to talk sometimes, but that isn't unmotivated. Oh-chan has been in Johnny's and an Idol for so long there must be a reason for him to keep going...

lol yay! :D

Yeah, I totally agree.

I feel that you can have all the talent in the world but it means diddly squat if don't work hard at it and use it.
This is a phrase my parents used to tell me allllllll the time. That's one of the reasons Ohno's my ichiban though. Even though he's talented in so many ways, he takes that talent and cultivates it into something amazing. lol yeah, I think him looking sleepy may have something to do with it as well. XDDD
I think that Ohno really does love Arashi, even if he doesn't show it as much. Maybe that's his motivation to keep going? :D

You know, I don't think he's entirely unmotivated, but I do think that Ohno's motivation only goes so far. Like, I watched his SCP ep yesterday, and it's like, once he's done what he wanted, he kind of doesn't care anymore. He's motivated as long as he can do what he wants to. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. To me it just means that he lives more for himself than for others, like, once he does what he set out to do, he's ready to do something else ( ... )
