The Floriade, which is this big horticultural extravaganza that happens once every 10 years at a different location in the Netherlands, will be held in 2012 in Venlo. The Singer Museum, paving and pocket books
Sunday we went to the Art Nouveau exhibition at the Singer Museum in Laren. The museum house the collection of the Singer family of sewing maching fame who settled in Laren in the first half of the 20th century when Laren was this cute little artists' village. Now it's a place where rich people live.

Ice skating and joyous girls
Two weekends ago we went ice skating with Tess' nieces. Or rather, Tess went ice skating with them and her sister while I walked around Maaseik (small village in Belgium near the Dutch border where the ice skating rink was) with Philip (brother in-law for all intents and purposes).
Tess always glows when she's with the girls.

Muchness
Just got back from watching the 3D version of Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland". I'm still deciding what I thought of the movie in general; I have mixed feelings as could only be expected in this case. However, one line out of the movie that I decidely like was when the Mad Hatter told Alice: "You used to be much muchier. You've lost your muchness -
I'm sticking with my assessment
Lady Gaga rocks! The costumes: cigarettes and beercans integrated as accessories, Wonder Woman outfits! The Pussy Wagon! The Thelma and Louise-ish parody at the end! It's all like some twisted version of Girl Power! Love it!

After a six month frozen hiatus, the landscape guys who were helping me out with my garden started working on it again. The still need to pour some more gravel and we need to add compost and the like to the back part of the garden, but, it's really almost done and I can start playing outside again. A good sort of usual
You know how when you've been sick for weeks and you finally get to the doctor all of your symptoms somehow disappear? That's a bit what it was like when Dirk played with the computers last night.
