While, in a pinch, yogurt can make a serviceable substitute for milk in one's tea, cream cheese cannot. The result is vile. Do not attempt it, no matter how desperate you are.

Yuck!

(Though I can see this leading to a new fad: "New at Starbucks! Tea with some a random dairy product! Check daily, to see what it is now!" The only question in my mind is how many people would buy it... *grin* )

This is why many in the older generation keep a couple cans of condensed (not sweetened) or evaporated milk on their pantry shelf.

Well, see, I always take my tea with milk, so I brew it strong. As in, I usually don't bother to remove the tea bag until I've finished my tea, a habit which makes most serious tea drinkers shiver in horror. Without something to cut the acid, tea at this strength is almost undrinkable ( ... )
