Books!

Everyone!!! Recommend your favourite book! I might take a trip to the library a little later. Or better yet, next week. I'll start writing down your suggestions.

(I know I seem positively obsessed with reading lately, but I am quite proud of myself. I've already read more books in the past month than I have in the past five years. For real.)

My fave book ever is Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt. If you haven't, then read that, then read the follow-up, 'Tis. Then read Teacher Man, which just came out. You can also read stuff by Frank's Brother Malachy McCourt, but he's not as good. :)

The zebra!!! ((CRIES)) Thats the part I was reading while I waited outside Sheldon's work for him today. That was 6 hours ago now & I still can't stop thinking about the poor thing. :(

Some I quite enjoy:
1. Anything by Amy Tan. Literally everything by her I have loved. The Bonesetter's Daughter is probably my favorite, but I liked them all.
2. A Salty Piece of Land by Jimmy Buffett. Really fun island/beach fiction. Makes you long for a vacation. :)
3. Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman. This is not really like the movie. I like it much better.
4. If you like non-fic: Isaac's Storm by Erik Larsen. The story of the 1900 Galveston Hurricane reads more like fiction than non-fic because what happens is so amazing and shocking.
5. Time After Time by Sue Haasler. This is the cutest book. It's a good love story, and for anyone who has a soft spot for 80s nostalgia has to read it!

Those are my 5 off-the-top-of-my-head suggestions. Of course, I always recommend the Harry Potter series too!

Oh man, I had some Amy Tan books that I'd never read. I donated them to a charity in the summer (back in my "I never read" days)! I heard she was great though, so I will hunt some books down again. Thanks for all the suggestions!

Hmmm... there are so many that I loved... agree with Kimmie about Da Vinchi Coda and HP...

Tara Road by Maeve Binchy (love her books), this one was an Oprah book

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (yes, a super oldie but I love it)

I know there are more, but can't think of them... I'm always reading... lately it is a lot of travel fiction... if you're interested in any travel things/stories/etc, let me know...
