Our AIDS Walk Organizing Committee had a booth at the market today.  It went really well!  Lots of people stopped by, asked about the Walk.  We had these "Gogo" angels out.  "Gogo" is "grandmother" in Zambia, I think. Ok, I think I know why the demonstration was taking place.  Dr. Henry Morgentaler is taking the province of New Brunswick to court, saying that NB women don't have full access to abortions.  And clearly the giant photo demonstrators weren't too pleased.  And it looks like Dr. Morgentaler has tried this before.

I caught the bus today at the same time, at the same stop.  It was like any other bus ride.  And then we went over Priestman Street and there was a woman with a big yellow sign and in big black letters it said:

WARNING: ABORTION PHOTOS AHEAD

And all down Regent Street were these GIANT photos (giant as in five feet high and three feet wide) of aborted ( Read more... )
