I still marvel at the miracle that is Dan Brown and his popularity. Say what you will of popular authors, but their work possessed an iota of merit.

I was already late. It was my Starbucks; if I'd gotten there at nine as per usual, they'd have had my coffee.

You know, I couldn't finish the Da Vinci Code. People go on and on about it, and I can't say I understand why.

See, that I can understand, it's a phenomenon contained toward a certain (if shallow) demographic. But Dan Brown? Who died and made him the next multibillionaire demographic-crossing author?

Ostensibly, some people enjoy reading books in which the sentence 'Her smile was magic' appears on the first page. I did try to finish it. It may have found its way into the fire. Mysteriously.

This is one thing we can agree on, although on principle, I don't burn books.
