By the time Spike wakes up, the sun's just beginning to set. He yawns, scratching at his stomach as he stretches, before rolling over and gently colliding with something solid. He cocks an eyebrow, blearily peering at Brenda and glancing toward the window.

"Nice surprise," he murmurs, reaching for her. "Short kip in the afternoon, love?"

Spike drops a kiss on Brenda's lips, promising to be back in a few hours. Checking in on Dawn, he reminds her that he'll be back, subtly suggesting she be in bed by that time. Spike falls into the apartment at ten after two. Throwing his blanket aside, he avoids the patches of sun in the living room, crashing onto the couch. Folding his arm over his eyes he groans.

There's no need to announce his arrival-- either Brenda's heard him or not.

Spike's already home by the time Brenda gets in, sprawled across the couch with his feet on the coffee table. He shoves the copy of Homer's Iliad in the original Greek under the couch cushions.
