I'm sorry about the extensions Angel.... I thought about you & Mike when I was listening to the state of the union address....

I don't know what to say that might make you feel better, but I do care. Its been too long since we've had a good catchup call- will you have any free time this weekend?

oh, hunny. the senate is voting against bush, so hopefully mike will come home to us sooner rather than later. i know i'm praying for that every night.

The senate voting against bush will have no effect. It will be purely symbolic, and will only improve senators voting records for those who want to run for president or another office in the next elections. Bush will still send that surge in regardless.

I don't expect Congress to make any of these changes anytime soon. I suspect talks to cut funds won't happen for another 90 days or so. I'm sorry this is happening to you. It's frustrating that the tours are so long, considering in the distant past a tour in war was about 6 months or so ( ... )

I don't think cutting funds will make much of a difference. Bush is bound and determined to go, and I think Congress will just back down eventually, fearing that cutting funds will harm the soldiers already IN Iraq.

You are absolutely right. I totally agree. There may be more "talk" but other than that, like you said, it's all about the voting record.
