The Diocese of Chicago elects a new Bishop. Let me know if you notice any earth-shattering kaboom's.

So far, nothing earth-shattering gerbil_lady November 12 2007, 01:16:02 UTC
Today Father John Richmond, who is currently supplying most Sundays since our last rector retired at the end of August, mentioned that the new bishop, whose name escaped me then and I should search for it on the Internet, was a classmate of his at seminary some years ago.

No there was, as usual, a complete lack of earth-shattering kabooms. Bishop-Elect Jeffery Lee is a mild-mannered straight midwesterner, married with kids, and had his seminary training at Nashotah House, which is known for being one of the more conservative Episcopal seminaries. Had the Very Reverend Tracey Lind been called to be the new Bishop, things might have been a bit more "exciting".
