Today has been a very laid back day, with very little to report.

Athena and I spent this morning wandering around town, exploring the medina and the downtown area.  There's an old fort we had been hoping to see, but sadly the site is now closed off.  After long years of neglect, the government is finally restoring it so it can be made into a hotel ( Read more... )

So yesterday Athena and I didn't really wind up doing much after our last update.  Had some pizza (indistinguishable from any western thin-crust) which I found pretty comforting.  It reminded me a bit of home, which I'm sort of longing for right now.  Athena says its pretty normal to feel this way a few days into the trip, once it sinks in that you ( Read more... )

This morning, Athena and I walked across the bridge to Salé, hoping to check out the Medina there.  According to our guidebook, Salé has a charming medina where life has remained surprisingly traditional.  Reccomended sights are the Grand Mosque (if you happen to be Muslim - others aren't allowed inside) and the Medersa immediately across from it ( Read more... )

Today has been a very good day.  I was up very early this morning, having been woken up by jet lag and then kept awake by the call to prayer.  This is fine, I sit and listen to our mp3 player and do some sudoku's until Athena wakes up at about 7:30.  While she gets herself ready to go for the day, I make my first foray into Rabat's medina on my own ( Read more... )
