The City Walks

Jun 15, 2012 19:11

I had booked a city walk on Saturday which included lunch and a tour with Peter and Scott. We walked from the hotel to Peters Brauhaus, I think. It was more of a sprint so with my short legs and walking on the cobblestones it was hard to keep up. When we arrived we were at the same restaurant as Bobby, Hal and Harris. There were spare seats at our ( Read more... )

It was a lot of fun apart from the almost run to get there.

I'm so glad for you, Judy, that you had such a fun time. Where are you off to now? Is it back to London? Is it "Adam time" yet? :-))

Be safe, sweetie! I know you'll have fun.

I'm in Mannhjeim till tomorrow then Heidelberg, Strasbourg, Munich. Then Ireland to see Yvonne and back to London. Adam is 11th, 12th and14th July.

Your pendant was a huge success. So many people noticed it. I wore it for my pic with Randy as you'll see later when I post the pics. I'm still wearing it to remind me of our great weekend. Thanks again. I'll always treasure it.

When in Munich, you must find St. Peter's tower. It's rig off of Marienplatz where the Glockenspeil is. As you face the clock tower, it's to your back and around a corner. I can't remember how much it is to go to the top, but you have to walk up the tower. Mom counted the steps the last time we did it, and she said it was either 600 or 800 steps. I don't know if your feet can take it. :-) But it's a fabulous view of the auld stadt (old city) and the surrounding area. On a clear day you can even see the mountains.
Where are you staying in Munich?
Glad the pendant was a hit. :-) I haven't made any of any kind since I made yours. I need to get in gear. I also make them with out QAF characters. ;-))

Have fun, sweetie; take tons of wonderful pics to share and be safe. The U-Bahn in Munich is fantastic (subway). It's so
easy to get around.

Later!

It's not so much the feet but the knees find it difficult. I'm staying in Rice Mill Road Bayern 81 477 in an apartment. Hopefully it's not too far from the city.

Visited the schloss today. Walked miles that I didn't have to. The trams stopped running because of a demonstration and got a taxi to the planetarium where all the commentary was in German. So I didn't go in. Had a coffee and walked home. Heidelberg is only fifteen minutes away so might have recovered by then.
