We've just  spent the weekend introducing our Czech au pair's mum & dad to sight-seeing and picnicking 'English-style' i.e. muffled up to the eyeballs against the cold and sitting in car admiring the rain/hail/gale. The concept of picnic 'English-style' made me smile. It was actually brave to make an attempt at picnic in such a weather, though north Wales sounds like a very interesting place to see.

No custom like that around here.

More dictated by not wanting to take 7 people out for meal 3 days in a row...but it gave them experience of true English fortitude in the face of our shitty climate :)

This is an account of a very English day out indeed - even if it was in Wales. How long are your visitors with you? Will they be able to do much more sightseeing?

Ah - quaint foreign customs. Like prancing around in flowery hats and bells, beating at each other with sticks... Oh, no. That one's English.

Like dancing the boundaries of the village bearing prehistoric elk horns. Nope - English again.

Like chasing giant cheeses down village streets. Um.

I'm beginning to think the benighted foreigners are less weird than we are.
