MCCOY ALWAYS KNOWS. I swear it's written somewhere that they must always end up together somehow.

I will try my damnedest to write more and finish this. I think the next part will be the hardest because I, erm, don't have a solid plan for it. *sheepish grin*

Eee, I'm glad you're enjoying it and I'm happy to have a fan of the verse. Admittedly they're not as sex as the C track boys, but they make up for it in sure adorkability.

This fic fills me with glee (they are penpals! it's adorable) and makes my heart ache (they are both so lonely; omg Jim shivering at McCoy's brief casual touch and then his I LIED PLEASE NOTICE ME thought nearly broke my heart) at the same time. Kirk and Spock need each other so much in this universe and they are already so so good for each other!

I'm happy you're enjoying it! I'm so glad the lonely part is getting communicated because boy are they alone and it's sort of funny how in their universe everything has gone "right" except for them. I think it's harder to put yourself out there emotionally when there's nothing on the line and you feel safe in the life you've created, so obviously they need a few solid kicks in the ass. :)

yay! finally the ball starts rolling!!! XD it's ridiculous how lonely both of them actually are.. OMG just wake up and realize that you both belong with each other!! having jim shivering at bones's touch is nothing short of genius. just shows that having the perfect life doesn't immediately guarantee a warm and meaningful existence *nods*

Thank you! I'm glad you saw the overarching theme. I really always to demonstrate that without each other to complete them, Kirk and Spock are lonely bastards, so even in the fucked up C track mirrorverse from Refractions, they're actually happier because they're lovers. Love=powerful opiate, lol. :)

it's ridiculous how lonely they are in a perfect world. they've got their family and planet intact, respectably established careers and track record, and yet they're some of the most miserable people ever. i mean, i can't compute an unhappy spock when he's got amanda around, it's bizarre, but you make it make so much sense! i'm just blown away by this story. it's lucky that they got a glimpse of what life (together) could be like. now just hurry up jim, kidnap spock already and make him work on your ship. guh, i need the next chapter so bad..
