At the risk of sounding stupid, how are you "conserving" water by taking a shorter shower or whatever? Isn't the water just going right back down the drain to be cleaned and recycled? Yes, it takes energy and work to do that, but it doesn't take water. The water is, as near as I can tell, completely conserved.

My favorite punctuation mark is the em dash. It's used-not often enough, in my opinion-when you want to interrupt an ongoing thought to insert another one. It's like a stronger, less optional form of parentheses. (You can also use it to indicate a sudden break, like when you ( Read more... )

At the rehearsal retreat yesterday, I went from section to section listening in and offering advice where appropriate.
