was the atwood book handmaiden's tale or thing-mah-bob and onyx? because both of those were ace
if you like 1984 type dystopia stuff, brave new world by huxley is the same sorta thing.. also very good
hmm, if you haven't read a clockrock orange by burgess.. its one of my favs.. he uses alot of made up slang in the book, you have to guess at the start and get used to it by the end.. fun
kurt vonnegut (slaughterhouse-five, cat's cradle, breakfast of champions) is a really fun author too.. hes got a surreal way of critiqueing.. also highly recommend any hemingway (the sun also rises, for whom the bell tolls, the old man the sea) hemingway was an american alcoholic who moved to europe during prohibition.. so his books are full of copies of his drunkard friends .. alot of those authors popup on hs/uni reading lists, so sorry if you've read em all ;)
ahhh thanks alot mate. ya i read the handmaid's tale and it was alright..kinda freaked me out a bit tho. i will take your titles into consideration. and by the wya..i know who hemingway is!!! jeez. so cardiff eh. i was in swansea a few weeks ago staying with my gran. i met a lad from cardiff on the train who seemed to like it there quite a bit.
yo dont take that dudes advice about hemmingway. i read two of his books and i dont think theyre your stylez. i'm reading jarhead right not by anthony swofford. its a memoir about swofford who was a us marine sniper in the gulf war. very raw/prfane, very good read. i also highly recommend a fine balance by rohinton mistry. its a fatty so it will last you. i read it and loved it. pretty drepressing about how 5 lives cross paths in india during its state of emergency but a fuckin eye opener for sure. read one or both of those. breezy
