computer woes

Installed Ubuntu 9.10 on wife's PC as dual boot with Vista, now searching for a way to enable the wireless device so Ubuntu can connect to the router. Rotten luck doing a search for ways to fix the problem and I thought the wireless connection would be automatic as it was in all the other Ubuntu installs I have done. Duh!! I'm lost. Again.

Thanks b.w., I will look for one after trying another "fix" my s.i.l. found on the net--if I can figure it out. Evidently, Broadcom cards work well with Windows -- not so automatically with my preferred OS.
