Indelible Marks: online fan-meet

This...sounds kind of pompous to myself, but someone on AO3 had a point in saying that they wished there was somewhere to talk to other fans of my story, Indelible Marks (Teen Wolf fandom, Derek/Stiles and a Hales-Lived AU, WIP ( Read more... )

I love this story because it's so rich in detail and layered in the character interactions. But, I think I love the links to websites and other fannish plats just as much. It's an interactive story in that way. Almost like getting to see the picture before the reader turned the page when you were a kid at story time. Nearly every chapter has them to enjoy in the notes.

Love the diverse characterization here of the Hale family and the glimpses into Were culture. The slow build up is a refreshing change compared to the wham bam of most TW fic. I am looking forward to your version of the Sheriff, because he is one of my favorite characters and somewhat of an alpha in his own right. Enjoy the tattoo links.

I really love the slow build, it feels like each chapter is a layer of the previous ones - so it fits the theme. I'd really like to take a peek at Derek and Stiles' sketchbook.

I'm embarrassingly wrapped up in this fic. I've become attached to these characters and the 'verse. I'm genuinely worried about what's going to come next...how Stiles will react to the werewolf reveal, what they'll have to tell the sheriff, what's going to happen with Gwen.

There's a magic to reading a WIP that I'm sure is part of it. I'm not so good at self-control when it comes to narrative. I've always been the type to ignore everything and finish a good book just because I have to know what will happen, and how it'll unfold. It's like an addiction.

With a WIP, I have no choice but to slow down, and the suspense is so delicious in how it heightens my enjoyment.

Ha! I've had that same problem. I seem to have run across quite a few Hales Live! fics lately, and I keep mixing up fic writers' versions of the Hale family/pack.

And yes, about the sadness in the details. The use of super-descriptive scents in this fic has been something I've loved all along, and the way the smells of the Stilinski home inform Derek's impressions of it are amazing.

Re. Gwen ... I haven't run across another fic that's addressed possible were-kid behavioral issues, and it's verrry interesting. Human kids run the gamut, of course, and although werewolves seem immune to most human diseases, it's interesting to contemplate *other* kinds of issues that could plague them. She sure has a loving, involved family to help cope with it, though!
